Why is everybody including Miss Howley changing the second bar of the tune. It is clear from the playing of the composer , Junior Crehan that he is playing different notes.

Ye very capable cillian is , but way overplayed ,,too much ornamentations, it’s falling to pieces, like we hear all these banjo players playing mad fast,, even comes across too rushed , and loads of blunders in there too, , anyway, that’s what I feel about it, we all defer to what’s sweet to our ears, but it’s not for me, ,,😔

whoever is playing the intro needs to tune his banjo. However, Clareen makes a great instrument, I own one and love it

I was watching a documentary on the traditional pubs in Ireland from every county and more and told my 87 year old mother. Then she mentioned the pub and the song. It came out of nowhere like she was there yesterday. I'm glad I got a chance to listen to it with her.

This has been by far my favorite song tp listen too for aoo long now over 2 years at least since I started playing the banjo. And the epic last tune for anyone looking is Leslie's march, well worth the learn, but you'll be trying for a while to play it like Mr Howley
